The word rōnin comes from Japanese history, where it described a samurai without a master. We use it as a metaphor for independence, a studio that answers to no one but our craft, our clients, and our own standards. We acknowledge the cultural origins of the word and carry it with respect. For us, Rōnin represents breaking away from the old agency model and working on our own terms to deliver design with clarity and impact.

Jah Marsh is a Creative Director, designer and content creator with over two decades of experience across brand, design, marketing, strategy, social, campaigns, apparel and content. He has led projects at every level, from local businesses to national initiatives and international collaborations, bringing depth across all areas of the creative industry. Starting out in graffiti and street culture before moving into design, Jah has built a career shaping brands, campaigns and stories that connect. At Studio Rōnin Jah drives the vision of the Masterless Creatives, delivering work with clarity, intent and impact.

Thomas Bowey is a strategist and marketer with over a decade of experience driving brand, performance and digital growth. He blends storytelling, data and design to cut through noise and deliver results that stick. From launching full-funnel campaigns to building content engines and reshaping how brands show up online, Thomas has led initiatives that deliver impact across industries from tech and construction to fashion and events. At Studio Rōnin he brings sharp strategy, creative thinking and a relentless focus on execution, helping brands move people, shift perception and grow.
